The group's strengthened military capabilities, coupled with increased support from Iran amid its protracted confrontation with the United States, have emboldened their operations. Analysts suggest that the Houthis view this moment as an opportunity to assert greater regional influence, exploiting the vulnerabilities created by international shifts in focus due to broader geopolitical conflicts.

Furthermore, the internal dynamics within Yemen have contributed to the Houthis' assertiveness. The ongoing fragmentation within the Yemeni government and military factions means that the Houthis are well-positioned to make strategic gains. As the conflict drags on, the potential for instability increases, leading to a news where the Houthis aim to consolidate control over vital regions.

International Response

The international community has reacted with concern as the Houthis continue to make advances. Key stakeholders, including the United Nations, have attempted to broker peace negotiations, although meaningful progress remains elusive. The United States, in particular, has expressed apprehension regarding the implications of a strengthened Houthi presence near Bab al Mandab, which is crucial for global trade and energy transportation.

Regional powers are also recalibrating their strategies in light of these developments. Countries like Saudi Arabia, which have historically opposed the Houthis, are likely reassessing their military and diplomatic approaches to ensure that their interests in the region are safeguarded. The shifting landscape demands a nuanced response that takes into account both the complexities of the Yemeni conflict and the broader geopolitical factors at play.

Looking Forward

As the Houthis continue to push forward, the situation in Yemen remains precarious. The potential for a protracted conflict poses significant risks for regional stability and humanitarian conditions on the ground. Going forward, it is imperative for international actors to engage in constructive dialogue and concerted efforts to address the underlying issues fueling the conflict. While the Houthis' escalation presents challenges, it also provides an opportunity for a renewed focus on peace-building efforts that could pave the way for a sustainable resolution to the Yemeni crisis.

2026 All rights reserved

This article is for informational purposes based on official and verified sources

Whoever controls this peak effectively controls Bab al-Mandab.Amid the clashes, Al-Amaliqa Forces, Southern Forces and Watan Shield have announced regaining control of several positions on the Al-Kahboub mountains and clearing Houthis from there. Fresh clashes also erupted after Houthis attempted to attack from Al-Waziya towards Al-Abar and Al-Mansourah.On the Taiz Front, airstrikes targeted Houthi positions and reinforcements at Al-Dakrah Junction, Al-Damna and Al-Rahida, while government forces repelled Houthi attacks in Al-Aneen, Al-Ghail Al-Ajram and Al-Alqama. A Houthi convoy was also hit by an airstrike at Al-Zarifa Junction in Al-Waziya.On the Marib Front, armed forces repelled a Houthi offensive launched from three different directions in the south and west of the province. Intermittent clashes continue but no side has made any significant advance. Airstrikes and drones targeted Houthi gatherings, barracks and vehicles. On the Al-Jawf Front, a cautious calm prevails across all battlefronts in the province, with no notable ground advancement reported so far."

            @War_Analysts  September 17, 2026

         View on Twitter:

                        News Analysis & Summary

Current Battlefield Dynamics

Heavy fighting has broken out for control of the pivotal Al-Kahboub Mountain, located near the Bab al-Mandab strait, a key maritime passage. The Al-Amaliqa Forces, along with Southern Forces and Watan Shield, have successfully regained several positions in this strategic area, effectively clearing out the Houthi forces. This critical development highlights the ongoing volatility of the Yemeni conflict, as both sides vie for dominance over regions that hold significant strategic value for military and supply chain operations.

Analyzing the Clashes

With renewed clashes sparked by Houthi attempts to advance from Al-Waziya towards Al-Abar and Al-Mansourah, the Taiz Front remains a hotbed of conflict. Recent airstrikes have targeted Houthi positions with precision; locations such as Al-Dakrah Junction, Al-Damna, and Al-Rahida have witnessed intense aerial bombardments aimed at disrupting Houthi reinforcements. Government forces have successfully thwarted several Houthi attacks in areas like Al-Aneen, Al-Ghail Al-Ajram, and Al-Alqama, showcasing their defensive capabilities despite the adversary's relentless offensives.

International Reactions

The global community is closely monitoring the situation, as the outcome of these battles could have profound implications for the humanitarian crisis in Yemen. Various international organizations continue to call for an immediate ceasefire, emphasizing the need for a political solution that prioritizes the welfare of the Yemeni population. Diplomats have highlighted the importance of sustained dialogue rather than military escalation, urging both parties to consider the ramifications of prolonged conflict.

Looking Ahead

As the conflict evolves, the Al-Jawf Front has remained relatively calm with few reports of ground advancements. This cautious calm may serve as a temporary respite, but the potential for renewed hostilities remains ever-present. The persistence of intermittent clashes across Yemen's frontlines illustrates a complex, multifaceted war. As military actions continue, the potential for diplomatic resolutions grows ever more vital for the peace and stability of the region.

2026 All rights reserved

This article is for informational purposes based on official and verified sources

In the 1990s, he was expelled from KSA after demanding that his Afghan veteran fighters, who emerged after the Soviet Union was broken by Pakistan & the US, replace US forces as the defenders of the Kingdom. After getting expelled from KSA, Osama tried to take revenge and raised his voice for Muslims as soon as he landed in Sudan. Sudan was always a poor state, as 70% of its land is a no man's land even in 2026.Osama exploited the poverty of the Sudanese people & used his inherited wealth to pose as a messiah. He built road networks & schools & provided jobs, but behind that front, he was constructing a terrorist army & a shadow economy. During his 1991-1996 Sudan period, bin Laden built a commercial network alongside an expanding terrorist organisation investing roughly $200 million across 30 businesses (including the Khartoum-Port Sudan highway & an international airport project) to provide income, infrastructure & logistical cover for al-Qaeda.This $200 million footprint caught the eyes of vulnerable populations in Kenya & Tanzania who knew little of his real motives. Osama built an army of terrorists in Sudan while maintaining his established network in Afghanistan. Driven by his ambition to challenge Saudi leadership & position himself as the leader of the Muslim world, Osama orchestrated the 1998 US Embassy bombings in Tanzania & Kenya, killing over 200 people & injuring thousands. He used US military presence in KSA & Iraq as a pretext but his true goal was political & ideological dominance. The truth is that Islam strictly forbids the killing of innocents: "...whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely." Quran 5:32Just for his own fight, Osama conducted 9/11 and since then every Muslim has been labeled a terrorist. Muslims are fighting every day for their identity. After killing 4,000 innocent Christians, Osamas extremist ambitions have cost more than 4 million innocent lives since 9/11.Now the same playbook is being played by his son Hamza bin Laden but on a scale 20x higher & more brutal. AQ from Afghanistan is planning 9/11 2.0 & this time every capital of the world will be targeted at the same time. AQ has developed chemical weapons, WMDs & is also developing nukes. The world is still sleeping."

            @BlueMist911  September 17, 2026

         View on Twitter:

                        News Analysis & Summary

Background

Osama bin Laden, known as the founder of global terrorism, exhibited extremist tendencies from an early age. In the 1990s, his expulsion from Saudi Arabia marked a pivotal turning point in his life. Following this expulsion, he sought to span his influence across the Muslim world, viewing himself as a defender of Islam against perceived Western aggression.

Analysis

Upon landing in Sudan, a nation characterized by poverty and instability, he capitalized on the socio-economic vulnerabilities of its people. Bin Laden utilized a substantial part of his inherited wealth to mask his true intentions. He undertook initiatives such as building roads, schools, and creating jobs. However, beneath this faade, he was methodically establishing a network for terrorism and a sustainable shadow economy. During his time in Sudan from 1991 to 1996, he invested approximately $200 million into numerous businesses, which not only provided local infrastructure but also financial support for al-Qaeda's expanding operations.

This period laid the groundwork for bin Laden's subsequent terrorist activities, which culminated in the orchestrations of the 1998 US Embassy bombings in Tanzania and Kenyaattacks that tragically resulted in the loss of over 200 lives. His motivations, however, were not purely defensive; they stemmed from a desires for political dominance, posing as the self-proclaimed leader of the Islamic world, all while manipulating the faith's principles to justify his actions.

International Response

In the wake of bin Laden's attacks, there has been a significant international response both in terms of security measures and counter-terrorism operations. His actions facilitated a troubling record that unfairly painted many innocent Muslims as potential threats, fostering widespread Islamophobia. Furthermore, bin Ladens legacy has indelibly altered the landscape of global terrorism, often leading to disproportionate repercussions for millions of peaceful Muslims around the world.

Looking Forward

Sadly, the terror record continues, with Hamza bin Laden, Osama's son, emerging as a new face of extremism. With al-Qaeda reportedly planning more ambitious and possibly catastrophic attacks, the global community must remain vigilant. The proliferation of advanced weaponry and the ongoing development of chemical and nuclear capabilities among terrorist groups elevate the risk of a broader catastrophe that could potentially affect all corners of the globe.

The challenge lies in confronting these threats while promoting understanding and support for the millions of Muslims striving to reinforce their identity as peace-loving individuals amidst the turmoil. Only through a constructive approach can we hope to forge a path towards a safer and more united world.

2026 All rights reserved

This article is for informational purposes based on official and verified sources

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung said on Friday that US President Donald Trump clearly wants dialogue with Pyongyang and confirmed Seoul will not be deploying troops to intervene militarily in the US-Israeli war on Iran.

Trump, seeking to revive the bond he claims to have forged with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in his first term, said last month that he plans to meet Kim later this year.

The US president also said it was important to “get along” with Kim, adding that Pyongyang now had 57 “very powerful” nuclear weapons. Seoul says there are around 80 to 120.

North Korea, which has secured critical backing from Russia in recent years, did not clearly respond to Trump’s overtures.

Lee said on Friday it was “clear” that “Trump wants dialogue, and I am also urging President Trump to engage in dialogue.”

South Korea — which Pyongyang has repeatedly labelled as its adversary —was continuing “preliminary coordination efforts” to facilitate dialogue between North Korea and the United States, Lee told reporters at the presidential Blue House.

He added that such a meeting “remains difficult … but is not impossible”.

“I cannot say for certain how likely it is, but it is also clear that we must make every possible effort to turn that possibility into reality,” he said.

South Korea and the US held a shorter edition of their annual Ulchi Freedom Shield military exercises last month, following an order from Trump to scale them back.

The truncated drills and Trump’s overtures to Pyongyang have raised concerns that Seoul could be sidelined in potential nuclear talks involving the North.

Seoul has also committed to $350 billion in US investments under a deal struck last year to avoid the worst of Trump’s tariffs, but specific projects and final terms are still being negotiated.

Lee said on Friday the negotiations had been “very complex and difficult”, adding that while the two sides were said to be close to agreement, he had found some terms “difficult to accept” and talks were continuing.

‘No, thank you’

The South Korean president also said that Seoul will not deploy troops to intervene militarily in the war on Iran.

“There will be no involvement or intervention in the war. We will not deploy troops or military assets in that manner,” said Lee.

Lee’s answer follows reports that Seoul was weighing a possible deployment to the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a key flashpoint in the war.

He added that South Korea will “carry out the minimum necessary activities” to protect its own merchant ships and oil shipping routes.

Lee reiterated three times that South Korea would not deploy troops in a way that could lead to military intervention.

“We have upheld the principle of non-involvement and non-intervention in the war until now,” he said.

“And we will continue to uphold it going forward.”

Trump complained in an interview late last month that Washington had received “very little help” from other countries, singling out South Korea — its key security ally in Asia — as an example.

“We help them, but when it came to helping us, I didn’t put on a heavy sell, but I just said, ‘Would you like to participate?’” Trump said in an interview with Fox News.

“And they all said, ‘No, thank you.’ And I said, ‘I’m going to remember that to myself,’” he added.

The US stations about 28,500 troops in South Korea to bolster the country’s defences against the nuclear-armed North Korea.

However, Trump’s repeated criticism of time-honoured alliances has cast doubt on US commitments to security in East Asia.

Lee also ruled out seeking to extend his constitutionally limited single term in office, amid mounting criticism after he and some allies floated constitutional reform.

His approval ratings have fallen to record lows in recent weeks amid growing discontent over his real estate policies, controversial personnel appointments and concerns over stock market volatility.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that Pakistan will go to “any extent” to defend Saudi Arabia, adding that Islamabad’s commitment to the kingdom’s security is “unconditional”.

He made the remarks in an interview with Arab News, clips of which were posted on its social media account on X on Friday.

The remarks come as fighting between Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthis has intensified, with the group making gains along Yemen’s Red Sea coast near the strategic waterway and launching missile and drone attacks on Saudi territory, while Riyadh has stepped up airstrikes against Houthi positions.

This week, the Saudi-led coalition battling the Houthis accused the rebels of targeting the holy city of Makkah, sparking outrage across the Muslim world. However, the Houthis swiftly rejected Riyadh’s report as a “lie”.

“Pakistan fully stands with the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, both diplomatically and physically. And I would like to underscore the word physically,” Lt Gen Chaudhry said in the interview with Arab News.

“We will go to any extent for the security of Haramain Sharifain and the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To any extent as asked and required by our Saudi brothers,” he said.

“It should be clear that the people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with their Saudi brothers and sisters. There should be no doubt about it,” he said.

“So, in a nutshell, we are there and will continue to defend the kingdom of Saudi Arabia against any aggression,” he said.

The military’s spokesperson added that Pakistan’s politico-military leadership remained in continuous contact and engagement with the Saudi leadership.

He said that at the same time, Pakistan, “very earnestly and sincerely”, was working with the help of regional countries and others to find a “negotiated, peaceful outcome of this complex situation”.

“That’s where the position of Pakistan is,” he said.

In another clip posted on X, he said Pakistan “remained not only committed, but we are already there for the protection of Haramain Sharifain and the kingdom of Saudi Arabia”.

“We are there to protect them,” he asserted, reiterating that Pakistan would “go to any extent” as required by the Saudi leadership.

“Our commitment to Saudi security is unconditional. It stems from a deep-rooted, historical and unbreakable bond between the people of Pakistan and the people of Saudi Arabia, between the political and the military leadership of both countries,” he said.

“So, nothing stops us. Nothing bars us. Nothing is there which hesitates [sic] our commitment. So, whatever is required, whatever is asked, we will go to any extent for that,” he said.

According to the write-up of the interview, Lt Gen Chaudhry was also asked about the phone call between Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Wednesday.

“The politico-military leadership of Pakistan remains in continuous communication with the esteemed leadership of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia on all these matters,” he was quoted as saying by the publication.

Lt Gen Chaudhry added that Islamabad was consulting regional governments to seek “a negotiated and peaceful outcome” to the wider crisis.

He described the Islamabad memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran in June as “a consensus document which we think provides the only real pathway forward for getting out of this complex military situation in which we are’.

According to the publication, asked whether Pakistan expected to bring Washington and Tehran back to negotiations soon, the military spokesperson gave no timetable. He said Islamabad continued to search for common ground despite mistrust, “spoilers” and “detractors”.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia had signed the “Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement” in Riyadh last September, pledging that any attack on either nation would be treated as an act of aggression against both.

Last month, the countries and Turkiye also signed the Makkah Defence Alliance, which stipulates that an attack on one member state would be treated as an attack on all. Its inaugural meeting was held in Istanbul on Aug 31, where it was decided that Pakistan would initially head the alliance’s secretariat for three years.

Earlier this week, Lt Gen Chaudhry said that the Makkah defence pact had no “regional aspirations” and that it was intended for collective deterrence.

“It is defensive. There’s nothing aggressive. There are no regional aspirations. It is collective deterrence,” he said in an interview with Al Arabiya English.

Meanwhile, Foreign Office spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan on Thursday reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitments to Saudi Arabia’s security, but stressed that the Houthi conflict should be addressed through dialogue and diplomacy rather than through coercive means.

“The Houthis must also stop their activities, and in this regard, our discussions basically revolve around bringing peace and stability through dialogue and diplomacy, and not through coercive measures,” he said.

The FO spokesperson also said that Pakistan was committed “in intent and spirit” to implementing the agreements signed with Saudi Arabia. He nevertheless declined to disclose how Pakistan might respond operationally, saying such decisions involved matters of confidentiality.
